imkSURVIS was developed in close cooperation with the "Institut für Maschinenkonstruktion und Getriebebau" at the Universität Stuttgart.

During diploma thesis and student research projects function studies have been developed, as well as the manufacturing of the first prototype was done in the laboratories of the institute.

Unless the day of the open door SURVIS was presented to the public for the first time in Summer 1995.

Unless the day of knowledge transfer of the "Steinbeis-Stiftung" in summer 1996, SURVIS was presented to representatives of the German industry.

Since january 2006 the IMK has the new name: Institut für Konstruktionstechnik und Technisches Design (IKTD)
